xxxxxThe Glasair IIS-RG Kit is comparable to the new Super II. Glasair's price for the basic "no frills" airframe kit is $41,917 plus $1,100 crating and shipping. Add $9,852 for a pre-built fuselage and $9,153 for a pre-built wing and the total is over $60,000. It would take another few thousand hours of work to equal the completion stage of this Glasair. And, It would take over $60,000 more to purchase the engine, propeller and extras that make up this Glasair. This is a rare opportunity to purchase a brand new Glasair IIS-RG ready to be outfitted just the way you want it.
xxxxUnlike production aircraft, every Glasair IIS-RG is different. The text and photographs on this website best describe this particular Glasair including what is included and what is not. Some photographs were taken during construction, some as completed wing or fuselage assemblies and others were taken fully assembled. All photographs were taken of this Glasair and are copyright 2007 all rights reserved.
xxxxxThe objective in building this kit was to include all possible extras, options, upgrades and custom features during the fabrication stage of construction. Buying the engine and propeller was necessary as the fit of many components required their temporary installation. While the pictures show what you get, they do not decribe what you will need to buy and work you or a contractor will have to perform.
xxxxxAt this point fabrication and assembly have been completed except for those items which cannot be installed until after final painting or until certain buyer decisions are made concerning equipment to be installed. The alternator and regulator choice depends on radio choices to be made by the buyer. VFR and IFR load demands vary considerably. The engine and flight instruments are choices that have been reserved for the buyer. The final paint, upholstery and carpet choices have also been reserved for the buyer. The requirements of the FAA's 51% rule have already been met so all remaining work can be performed by contractors.
xxxxxPending sale, this Glasair IIS-RG's fuselage and wing are shrink wrapped and are stored on welded steel transport carriers (included). The Engine is crated. Other parts are wrapped in construction grade shrink wrap, still others are wrapped and in cardboard boxes. This arrangement has proven to be effective for moving the entire kit at one time over long distances without damage. Two 2-ton foldable hydraulic cranes are included in this sale to make loading easy. They also make fuselage-wing assembly and engine mounting safe, quick and easy.
xxxxxAll parts are available for inspection by potential buyers and their experts as are the construction logs and purchase documents. Please email all general inquiries. To schedule an inspection appointment only, call (702) 809-3678.
